Cocktail Recipe by: Eric Martinez
Bartender Eric Martinez from the Four Seasons Resort Maui conjured up this magical cocktail for the “Nation’ s Most Inspired Bartender Search,” sponsored by Bombay Sapphire earlier this year. Martinez’ s martini won the qualifying round, which sent him to Oahu where he snagged second place in the state. His choice of garnish, he says, was inspired by the lush environment of Hana: a candied hibiscus.
- 1-1/2 oz Bombay Sapphire gin
- 2 oz coconut water
- 3/4 oz lavender syrup
- 1/2 oz lime juice
- splash of St. Germaine Elderflower liqueur
- candied hibiscus
Instructions: Chop mint into half-inch squares and gently stuff into hibiscus.(Produced by Wild Hibiscus Flower Company, available at liquor purveyors on Maui.) Place in chilled martini glass. Combine drink ingredients in martini shaker and pour.
