Jamba Juice Maui

When I got an email from the folks at Jamba Juice Hawaii asking whether I’d like to sample their new line of fresh-squeezed juices, the answer was obvious. My friends and family know I’m a smoothie and juicing fanatic. In fact, there’s rarely a day when my Vitamix or Jack LaLanne juicerisn’t revved up, so taste testing their new juices was right up my alley.

And can you believe it—this new juice line is currently available only in Maui! “Jamba felt there was a demand for juice in Maui, based on the health-conscious, active lifestyle in Maui’s local community,” explains Jamba Juice Hawaii representative Maria Kanai.

VP of Jamba Juice Hawaii Donna Yano added, “There is certainly a demand for fresh, squeezed-to-order juices, and we are so excited to introduce the juice lines to Maui and eventually to Oahu, Kauai and Hawaii Island this summer.”

If you’re a committment-phobe (I’m guilty myself) or somewhat weary of “green” drinks, don’t worry. Jamba Juice Hawaii is offering its “Green is Good” promotion: If you select the Tropical Greens or Garden Medley flavors and you don’t like it, the staff will swap it for a drink of your choice (of equal or lesser value, of course).

I evaluated each juice based on sweetness, thickness, and overall yumminess. I like my juice on the thick side. In my opinion, the more you can crunch on the juice between sips, the better. I know not everyone shares this sentiment, so judge for yourself the kind of consistency you’re in the mood for. Same thing with sweetness—sometimes I’m craving something to curb that craving. Other times I want something more savory than sweet.

What will I be ordering next time I’m at the Jamba Juice counter? Definitely the Orange Reviver. While the consistency isn’t as chunky as I usually prefer, the flavors are so good that I’ll make an exception. It has a fragrant and fruity taste that masks the veggies. Whereas the Tropical Greens and Garden Medley flavors will definitely please veggie lovers or those used to green juices, the Orange Reviver is a safe choice for those just dipping their toes into the juicing lifestyle.
