TIKI TERRACE KA‘ANAPALI BEACH HOTEL

Thanksgiving and Christmas could be your lucky days off from the kitchen, though I cannot guarantee that you won’t feel overwhelmed by the more than seventy savory appetizers, entrees and desserts that Chef Tom Muromoto and his team deliver to the Tiki Terrace’s buffet. Fear not — here’s an itinerary: Start at the seafood station with the kim chee tako poke, fresh shucked oysters on the half-shell, and pohole fern and avocado tuna salad, then move on to the baked-crab-and-artichoke baguette. For traditionalists, there is succulent rotisserie turkey, corn-sausage-and-sage stuffing; kiawe-smoked prime rib; and slow-roasted rosemary leg of lamb. Or satisfy your inner adventurer with Korean kalbi short ribs and spicy Thai penne shrimp pasta. To your right, there are made-to-order omelets and freshly baked waffles. To your left, a dessert station from Heaven: haupia (coconut) or guava cake, Black Forest or pineapple upside-down cake, pies like banana, macadamia-nut, and pumpkin. Or build your own shortcake topped with fruit and whipped cream. Keiki (kids) have their own buffet section. How’s that for making everyone thankful?
