The Shops at Wailea announces Na Hoku Hanohano Award-winning singer Amy Hanaiali’i as the concert headliner on Friday, August 26 at 5:30-7pm. The free concert series titled “Ke Kani Hone O Wailea” which means “the sweet music of Wailea” welcomes guests to enjoy live performances by local artists. Amy Hanaiali’i has won 18 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards and earned six GRAMMY Award nominations during her career. Her classical training combined with her falsetto training and strict pronunciation lessons from her grandmother Jennie Nāpua Woodd, an International Hawaiian superstar and one of the original Royal Hawaiian girls in Waikiki, has made her a cultural force in Hawaiian music. Hanaiali’i has performed to sold-out audiences in America, Europe, Japan, China, and French Polynesia, and has also performed alongside legendary acts such as Willie Nelson, Earth, Wind and Fire, Carlos Santana, Joe Cocker, and many more.
