In celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month, Jazz Maui presents Sunset Jazz featuring Jazz All Stars bassist Doug White, saxophonist John Zangrando, keyboardist Mark Johnstone, and drummer Paul Marchetti on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at the Maui Ku’ia Estate Chocolate Factory, 78 Ulupono Street, in Lahaina. Advance ticket purchase is required at JazzMaui.org or https://www.mauichocolatetour.com/sunset-jazz.
First established in 2001 by the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, Jazz Appreciation Month is held every April in recognition of the significant contribution that jazz music has made to society.
Sunset Jazz offers great live jazz music by visiting and local professional jazz musicians and chocolate/beverage pairings every Sunday in the open-air pavilion at the Chocolate Bar. Different artists perform each week and the music is always top-notch.
During the Sunset Jazz concerts, the chocolate factory offers an extensive wine, spirits and beer list along with award-winning chocolate and beverage pairings for purchase. Chocolate Sommeliers are on hand to assist or imbibers can create their own pairing.
Sunset Jazz attendees must be 21 years or older and have a valid photo ID. Seating is limited and often sold out so advance ticket purchase is required. Sunset Jazz concert ticket sales benefit Jazz Maui’s music education programs.
Jazz Maui, a branch of the 501(c)3 nonprofit Arts Education for Children Group, provides opportunities for participation in high quality jazz music education and performances. Throughout the year Jazz Maui presents concerts, classes, and clinics and edited stream performances on its website: www.JazzMaui.org.
