- 1 pint of fresh Kula strawberries
- 1 vanilla bean (or 2 tablespoons vanilla extract)
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 cup verjus* or dry white wine
- 3 tablespoons sugar
*A sour juice made from grapes.
Remove stems and cores, and quarter berries. Place sugar, verjus or wine, and vanilla bean in a pan and bring to simmer. Add strawberries and balsamic and cook until tender.
Pour over finished pancake and serve immediately.
