Raised in true matrilineal tradition of Hawai‘i, the women of the Lindsey ‘ohana, mother Carmen Hulu and daughters Kahulu Maluo and Nāpua Makua, embody Hawaiian music in all its forms.
Hulu Lindsey, best known for her rich falsetto styling, has performed worldwide for the past 40 years. Since 1996, Kahulu Maluo has been kumu hula of Maui’s award-winning Halau Nā Lei Kaumaka O Uka along with her sister. Nāpua Makua has made her own fame as a recording artist with releases, Pihana and Mohalu, which garnered her Nā Hōkū Hanohano Female Vocalist of the Year awards in 2008 and 2011. Join them for an evening filled with the family’s musical and hula tradition.
